Welcome to the neighbourhood
We're proud to call Glasgow's southside home. There's something pretty special about this part of the city - a community that always comes together for good causes, good food, goood beer, and good times. The people here care about where they shop, what they eat, and how they spend their weekends, and that spirit is a huge part of what drives everything we do.
So, when the sun came out the other week that one time, we took a wander around some of our favourite local spots to share a little slice of the neighbourhood we love.
Zennor Coffee
There's no rushing at Zennor at 287 Langside Road (formerly Bakery 287 iykyk). This beautifully bright, aromatic little spot is made for unhurried filter coffees and thoughtfully crafted seasonal serves. Whether you're catching up with a pal or turning some zine pages, it's the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and stay a wee while.
Queen's Park
The big green heart of the southside. Queen's Park is perfect for hilly stomps with your best pal, spontaneous picnics, and sweeping views over the west end all the way towards the Campsies. Round here, it's everyone's communal back garden.
Boca
Freshly baked focaccia, generously stacked with the good stuff. Boca is a southside institution and our go-to order for team days out - every single time, without fail, and for very good reason. If you haven't had one yet, please sort that out immediately.
Zucchini
Your one-stop shop for organic goods, pantry staples, and the bits you didn't know you needed until you're standing in front of them. You will never, ever leave empty-handed.
This Must Be the Place
Homeware, lifestyle, and good things. This is where you go when you want to find something thoughtful for someone you love, or when you just fancy treating yourself to a bar of Ocelot.
Café Buena Vida
Home of Radio Buena Vida, the sound of collective action and one of the first venues to stock Sun & Stone. Cafe Buena Vida is a brilliant spot to grab a can and soak up a bit of that community energy and eclectic sounds.
La Gelatessa
Authentic Italian gelato right here in the southside. La Gelatessa is well known for its dreamy rotating flavours, but if you haven't tried the toasted hot chocolate yet, you need to make that happen as soon as possible. There are always a few gorgeous vegan options on the menu, too, which we love to see.
Sylvan La Cave
The nouveau natural wine shop on sunny Sinclair Drive. If you're a fan of interesting, well-sourced bottles in a welcoming, knowledgeable setting (shoutout Doug), this is your place. And if you haven't yet made it to their big sister restaurant, Sylvan, what are you waiting for?
Caesar's Social
Cosy neighbourhood pizza vibes, excellent slices, and, the best bit, it's BYOB. So don't forget to bring your cans. We'll see you there.
Starter Culture
Cheese, wine, Freedom Bakery bread, assorted bits, and a great selection of Scottish beers - what's not to love? You'll also find Brewgooder in the fridge, which obviously makes it one of our favourite spots in the city.
