Introducing: New England IPA

Introducing: New England IPA

We’re unbelievably excited about the launch of our latest Core Range beer, our very own New England IPA. We thought we’d take a minute to tell you a little bit more about the style itself and what we love about this new release….

Describe the beer in three words.

Juicy. Summer. Tropical.

What is a New England IPA?

One of the most celebrated and exciting beer styles out there! Born out of Vermont, a state in New England (north-east USA), the style came to popularity in the 2010s as brewers began to experiment with filtering and pasteurising processes, and increasing levels of hop additions. Reducing, and even removing, the filtering and pasteurising processes led to hazy, yellow-toned beers with a juice-like appearance and thick mouthfeel. Heavy additions of what we’d now call New England hop varieties, with their signature tropical and citrus flavours and aromas made this style truly unique.

Today, it’s arguably the most popular style in the craft beer world, and for good reason!

What's the ideal setting for enjoying a can?

On a beautiful forest or mountain walk, to celebrate its completion or summit, as an ode to the stunning landscapes of the New England region. Equally, we’ve found the sofa to be a pretty sweet spot for cracking a can during this particularly chilly January.

What makes this beer stand out from the crowd?

IPA’s traditionally come with a higher ABV, usually 6% or more. To achieve the full-on flavour profile that comes with the New England IPA style, but at 4.1%, is pretty immense! Though there are some great session IPA’s out there, we think this one’s really special and has done its job seriously well.

And of course, like all of our Core Range beers, every can of this NEIPA will unlock 100X its volume in clean water projects around the globe. Drinking beer. Giving water. That’s pretty unique, right?
